Transitioning from Year 6 to Year 7

We have close links with Crayford Academy to ensure that our pupils are well prepared for the transition from primary to secondary

Haberdashers’ Crayford Academy has an excellent transition programme. Students are welcomed into the school through a series of transition activities, including transition days spent at the secondary school site, and visits from the pastoral team to every primary school child. LAC students and students with SEND are offered additional visits and transition activities.

Haberdashers' Crayford Primary students also benefit from an additional series of Secondary Ready Preparation lessons, as well as assemblies through Year 5 and 6. Staff from Secondary visit and work with their Primary colleagues to establish a clear culture of holistic transition that encompasses both pastoral and academic transition points. Year 5 also enjoy opportunities to visit our site and learn more about the lessons and activities that take place in secondary school, as well as participating in Sports Day.
